Appointments
How do I make an appointment?
To schedule an appointment, Book Online, or call our office at 919-655-3929.
What is your cancellation policy?
At the time of appointment booking, we collect your credit card and charge a deposit.
To ensure efficient scheduling and show respect for our providers’ time, we have a 48-hour Cancellation & No-Call/No-Show Policy. If you cancel or reschedule your appointment within 48 hours of the scheduled time, or fail to show up without notifying us, your deposit will be forfeited.
In the event of an unforeseen emergency, where there is no record of previous late changes, we may consider utilizing all or a portion of the fee towards your next service, at our discretion. This policy allows us to maintain a high level of service for all our clients and providers.
If you arrive more than 10 minutes late for an appointment, we will do our best to see you, but you may be asked to reschedule based on schedule availability.
Who will I see for my treatments at CLARA?
LARA was founded by Dr. Rebecca Bialas and Dr. Joanna Hooten, both board-certified dermatologists with the highest level of knowledge about skin health. We believe in the importance of dermatologist-led treatment plans, and your skin care plan will always be overseen by a dermatologist at CLARA. We also have an incredible team of providers, trained in CLARA’s consistent approach to skin care, that work with us to deliver the excellent experience you’ve come to expect from CLARA.
Payments
Do you accept insurance?
CLARA Dermatology does not accept insurance plans and are out-of-network for all insurance plans. We have transparent pricing for all visits and treatments.
Cosmetic treatments are not covered by insurance plans, regardless of where you are seen or treated.
For patients with private insurance, for medical services only, we can provide you with a coded receipt that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement, or to have charges applied to your deductible. Not all insurance companies allow reimbursement for services. It is the responsibility of the patient to check with their insurance providers about rules regulating reimbursement.
Do you accept Medicare?
Clara Dermatology does not participate in Medicare or other government health insurance plans. We welcome Medicare, Medicaid, and Tricare patients at Clara Dermatology, but due to government regulations, patients with Medicaid, Medicare, Tricare, or other government insurance programs cannot be reimbursed by their insurance for services rendered.
Can I use my insurance for prescriptions, pathology fees, or blood work?
Yes! Patients may elect to use their insurance to pay for any necessary blood work, pathology, or prescription medications ordered by Clara Dermatology. You’ll also be able to take advantage of the low cash pay fees that we have negotiated for our patients in need of blood work, pathology, or prescriptions, and you may find that these prices are lower than those billed through your insurance.
Can I pay for my visit using my HSA or FSA funds?
Yes! HSA or FSA funds can be used to pay for medical services at Clara Dermatology.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, checks, credit cards and Apple Pay. Health spending and flex spending accounts are accepted forms of payment for medical services. We do not accept Care Credit. Payment is due at the time of service.
Good Faith Estimate, No Surprises Act
Per the “No Surprises Act”, here is the Good Faith Estimate of what you could pay for medical services at CLARA Dermatology PLLC:
For new patients: Service Code 99203 New Patient Visit: Level 3 $175
For existing patients: Service Code 99213 Established Patient Visit: Level 3 $175
This estimate does not apply for services that are not traditionally covered by insurance such as cosmetic services.
Do you ever have promotions or specials?
Yes! The best way to stay in the loop is to sign up for our mailing list and follow us on social media @clara.derm.
Policies
Do you have a Loyalty program?
We do! You earn 1 point for every dollar spent on cosmetic treatments and CLARA products and you can redeem these points for discounts on cosmetic treatments and CLARA products! The CLARA Consult and prescription medications do not accumulate Loyalty program points. All patients are automatically enrolled in our Loyalty program.
Do you have a Referral program?
A referral from a patient is the best compliment! When you refer a new patient and they mention your name, we add 50 points to your Loyalty point balance. Thank you!
Do you work with Brand Ambassadors or partner with other businesses?

Will you refund my treatment or package?
All of our treatments and packages are final sale and not refundable and non-transferable. For questions about return/exchange of products, please see the FAQ section of our Shop.
How do I purchase a gift card?
Gift cards can be purchased through our online shop (and will be emailed directly to the recipient) or a physical card can be purchased in person. Gift cards can be redeemed online or in office for a CLARA Consult, treatment, or products. Gift cards never expire.

Does CLARA have skin care products?
Yes! We have a curated line of medical-grade skin care products to care for every skin type. Explore our collection in office or click Shop.
Are CLARA products good for my skin?
Yes! We strive to include only the best ingredients in our products that yield great results for your skin.
We omit things like parabens, sulfates, and other chemicals that are known to be (or thought to be) harmful to your body or to the planet. Our products meet California’s standards, which are the strictest in the U.S.
Our products are cruelty-free, and tested on dermatologists, not animals!
How do I know which products to choose?
The best way to get advice tailored specifically to you and your skin is to book a cosmetic consultation with one of our doctors. We will put together a personalized skin care plan just for you! These visits are available in person and virtually.
We’ve also included recommendations based on skin type and concern on each product page in our shop. To help guide you, we’ve put together Collections of products that work well together for different skin goals.
How do I buy a gift card?
Gift cards can be purchased from our online booking site, and will be emailed directly to the recipient.
Gift cards can be redeemed online or in our clinic + retail store for either products or skincare treatments. And, they never expire!
Where do you ship and how long will it take?
We currently ship our products to all 50 states.
Order processing takes 1-2 business days, and then your product will ship. You will receive an email letting you know when your products are on their way!
Orders placed after business hours or on the weekend will begin processing the next business day.
For our local customers, curbside pick up is also available, just let us know when you arrive and we will have your products ready to go!
I have questions about your product return/exchange policy.
If you are not tolerating your product, let us know within 14 days of receiving your order and we will process an exchange or provide a refund for store credit. We won't ask you to return the product - instead give it to a friend who would benefit from the product! Email us at hello@claradermatology.comto start a return.
