Common Questions
How do I prepare?
Come to your appointment well-hydrated and with a clean face. If you’re wearing products or makeup when you arrive, our cleansers are available in the office when you arrive.
Schedule your treatment 2 weeks prior to a special event, to be sure skin is fully healed.
We do not recommend any laser treatments during pregnancy.
What can I expect during the treatment?
You will be given protective glasses to wear during the treatment. The laser beam is directed at the treatment area and feels like a rubber band snapping against the skin. Cold air is blown onto the treatment area at the same time, to minimize discomfort.
What is the aftercare?
Your skin may be slightly red on the day of treatment, and you may experience some swelling that night.
In some cases, bruising (also known as purpura) may be required to achieve best results. Your provider will discuss this with you prior to performing the treatment. If you develop bruising, you can use ice to minimize discomfort and apply concealer to cover.
You can resume using makeup and sunscreen the day following treatment.
Multiple treatments are often required for best results, about 4-6 weeks apart.
I visited for vascular laser treatment of small cherry angiomas and it was a great experience. Dr. Bialas is so kind and knowledgeable.
