We’re Dr. Rebecca Bialas and Dr. Joanna Hooten, two board-certified dermatologists on a mission to make taking great care of your skin easy, enjoyable, and rewarding.
After treating patients in other office and hospital settings, we founded Clara Dermatology in 2020 to create a different kind of skincare experience. We combine high-quality, clinical treatments in a casual, cool space – where we love working and we know you’ll love visiting.

Direct care (self-pay) means we don’t bill insurance companies for our medical services.
Our transparent pricing means no unexpected charges, confusing language, or complex insurance hoops to jump through.
Payment for services, treatments, and products are due at the end of each visit. We provide a coded medical receipt (superbill), making it easy for you to submit for reimbursement or use your HSA.

Meet Dr. Hooten
Dr. Hooten is a board-certified dermatologist and co-founder of Clara Dermatology. She loves treating all ages and types of skin, and values long-term relationships with her patients. Skin has been her passion since she was little, when she used to concoct homemade face masks with her mom. Today, she brings passion and attention to detail to her practice and takes a holistic approach to helping people achieve their best skin.
More About Dr. Hooten
Dr. Hooten holds degrees from the University of Michigan and Wayne State University, where she served as Chief Resident and graduated with high istinction. She completed her Dermatology Residency and Fellowship in Medical Dermatology at Duke University, serving as Educational Chief Resident and completing a laser-specialty elective at Washington Institute of Dermatologic Laser Surgery and a special concentration for Leaders in Medicine.

Meet Dr. Bialas
Dr. Bialas is a board-certified dermatologist and co-founder of Clara Dermatology. As a highly visual person, she finds dermatology to be the perfect mix of science and art. She’s obsessed with all things skin because she believes it’s the most interesting organ in the body: it can tell us what’s happening with other systems, and there are always new discoveries about what the skin does to protect us, from immunity to the microbiome.
More About Dr. Bialas
Dr. Bialas holds degrees from UNC-Chapel Hill and UNC-CH School of Medicine. She earned a Masters of Public Health from UNC Gillings School of Public Health and completed her Dermatology Residency at Duke University, where she served as Chief Resident. She also completed a laser-specialty elective at Washington Institute of Dermatologic Laser Surgery and is an accomplished laser surgeon.
Dr. Bialas has authored numerous articles in medical journals and frequently teaches and speaks for residents, physicians, and community groups.
