Kybella is an injectable treatment made with deoxycholic acid, a naturally-occurring molecule found in the digestive system which helps break down fat. When it’s injected under the skin, it can begin to metabolize stubborn fat cells over time, slimming the jaw and enhancing your natural contours. Some of the traditional methods for reducing a double chin include surgical techniques like liposuction, but it’s normal to want to avoid surgery. Kybella is an excellent option for slimming your chin without the downtime or risks that come with a surgical procedure.

Avoid alcohol and foods with high sodium / salt content prior to your treatment to help minimize swelling and allow us to accurately assess the treatment area.

You may start an arnica supplement several days before your treatment to help minimize bruising.

Kybella should not be performed during pregnancy.

We will map out our injection pattern using a grid and then perform the injections into each spot, a few centimeters apart in the treatment area.

Injections are quick and well-tolerated. You may experience some mild burning toward the end of the treatment.

You will experience redness and swelling that can last up to 2 weeks in the treated area. You can use ice packs and over-the-counter painkillers if you are uncomfortable.

Other possible side effects include bruising, induration (firmness) at the injection site, and nerve injury with temporary numbness.
