Why a Gold Microinfusion Is the Perfect Way to Prep Skin for A Big Event

Our approach to filling lips is creating a balanced, natural appearance of the lips. Before diving directly into lip filler, let’s review lip anatomy.

It’s May, and that means graduations, summer concerts (lucky enough to see Taylor Swift??), and wedding seasons are upon us! If you’re looking for an easy way to prep your skin before an event this summer, may we present for your consideration, the Gold Microinfusion. Beloved by celebrities for pre-event skin prep, the Gold Microinfusion is an easy way to look your best, whether you’re going to the Met Ball, or your best friend’s wedding.

What is a Gold Microinfusion?

A Gold Microinfusion uses a small stamping device that contains an array of fine, hollow needles (finer than human hairs!) that are gold-plated, to stamp micro-channels into the superficial layers of the skin and deposit droplets of a custom serum. This serum is typically composed of a mixture of vitamin C, B vitamins, a neurotoxin like Botox or Dysport, and a hyaluronic acid dermal filler. When these droplets are stamped into the skin, at the level of the dermal-epidermal junction (or, just beneath the top layers of the skin), they can create a beautiful glowing, “air-brushed” look to the skin.

What are the benefits of a Gold Microinfusion?

The components of the Gold Microinfusion are chosen for their myriad skin benefits. The vitamin blend helps to brighten the skin and provide a dose of antioxidants for reducing inflammation, improving cellular health and protecting skin from environmental damage. The neurotoxin (Botox or Dysport), when placed superficially in the skin, helps to shrink pores and control oil production. The hyaluronic acid filler is also placed very superficially and attracts water to plump and hydrate the skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines. Sometimes platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, is added to the mixture. PRP is the golden plasma layer of your blood that is rich in growth factors to stimulate collagen production and new cell generation. The addition of PRP can amplify results of a Gold Microinfusion.

Can I get a Gold Microinfusion even if I’m not ready for bigger injectables like fillers or Botox?

Yes! In fact, this is the perfect way to try out a skin-enhancing treatment without committing to other injectables. The needles on the Gold Microinfusion device are so small that the treatment is virtually painless; you will likely feel a slight prickling feeling, but that’s it! Your skin will be red during, and for about an hour after, the treatment, and then your results will be apparent immediately! That’s what makes this the perfect treatment before a big event – no downtime, and glowing, bright skin right away. We do always recommend that you give yourself a few days between treatment and your event, to allow for any lingering redness to subside. You can expect results to last for up to a month.

Who is a good candidate for a Gold Microinfusion?

Gold Microinfusions are safe on all skin types and tones. If your goal is brighter, more radiant skin, the Gold Microinfusion can work for you! The small device can get into hard-to-treat areas of the face like the undereye area to brighten under eye circles, and while we call the treatment a “facial”, it can be used on skin below the face as well, like the neck and décolleté. Consider this treatment part of your go-to regimen for prepping for any big event you’ve got on the calendar this month!
