Dermal Fillers

Come to your appointment well-hydrated and with a clean face. If you’re wearing products or makeup when you arrive, our cleansers are available in the office for you to use.

Schedule your treatment 4 weeks prior to a special event, to be sure skin is fully healed.

You may start an arnica supplement several days before your treatment to help minimize bruising.

We do not recommend injection of dermal fillers during pregnancy.

We will perform injections into the treatment area until we achieve the desired amount of volume adjustment. Topical numbing ointment, ice, and vibration may be used during the treatment to keep you comfortable.

Try to limit any compression of the area immediately after treatment (wearing tight goggles, sleeping on the area, massage of the treated area).

Results are visible immediately, though you will likely have some mild swelling for 2-3 days after the procedure.

Bruising can occur and can be treated with ice, Tylenol for comfort, and concealer.

Results last 6-12 months, or longer depending on the type of dermal filler.

Juvéderm® is a hyaluronic acid dermal filler that can fill in lines and folds in the face. Hyaluronic acid is a complex sugar naturally found in your skin that is responsible for retaining moisture and suppleness. In a crystal-clear gel, it can restore volume where collagen loss creates lines and folds around the mouth. Juvéderm can last for up to one year, after which you can return for re-treatment.

Voluma® is a hyaluronic acid dermal filler in the Juvéderm family of injectables that can add volume to the cheeks. Called age-related midface volume loss, it’s common to lose shape in the cheeks as you age. Voluma can restore shape and plumpness to the cheeks for more youthful contours and a lifted look. You’ll see instant results with Voluma with improvement in areas like the nasolabial folds and cheeks. It can last for two years after which you can return for retreatment. The midface is often a great starting point for fillers as it helps to redistribute the midface volume back toward the “triangle of youth.”

Restylane® is a hyaluronic acid dermal filler that can be used for a variety of treatment areas. It can be used to fill in wrinkles and folds like smile lines in the midface. It can also be used to effectively enhance the lips if you’re looking to add volume or restore volume loss under the eyes because of aging. Restylane can last for eighteen months or longer, after which you can opt for re-treatment.

Belotero® is a hyaluronic acid dermal filler that is designed to integrate into your skin to restore volume to areas like the nasolabial folds, smile lines, and vertical lip lines. During injection, the flexible gel blends into your natural tissues for a perfectly natural look and feel. Belotero can last for six months or more, but this can depend on your treatment areas— for example, areas like the mouth that move often can mean that the product fades faster.
