Come to your appointment well-hydrated and with a clean face. If you’re wearing products or makeup when you arrive, our cleansers are available in the office for you to use.

Schedule your treatment 4 weeks prior to a special event, to be sure skin is fully healed.

You may start an arnica supplement several days before your treatment to help minimize bruising.

We do not recommend injection of dermal fillers during pregnancy.

We will perform injections into the treatment area until we achieve the desired amount of volume adjustment. Topical numbing ointment, ice, and vibration may be used during the treatment to keep you comfortable.

Try to limit any compression of the area immediately after treatment (wearing tight goggles, sleeping on the area, massage of the treated area).

Results are visible immediately, though you will likely have some mild swelling for 2-3 days after the procedure.

Bruising can occur and can be treated with ice, Tylenol for comfort, and concealer.

Results last 6-12 months, or longer depending on the type of dermal filler.

At CLARA we use a variety of types of HA fillers depending on the area we are treating and the volumization goals. More hydrating fillers like Juvéderm, Restylane, and Versa are used in areas where we want volume plus flexibility, like the under eye, the lips, and around the mouth. Other fillers, like Voluma and Contour can be used when lifting and volumizing is the goal, for restoring volume to the midface or contouring the jawline. All of these are composed of hyaluronic acid, but it is stabilized and cross-linked differently. Hyaluronic acid is a complex sugar naturally found in your skin that is responsible for retaining moisture and suppleness. In a crystal-clear gel, it can restore volume where collagen loss creates lines and folds.
