What to expect during treatment
Neck rejuvenation has two treatment phases. The first step is skin tightening. After cleaning the skin, we will apply a cool gel to the treatment area. Then a laser handpiece is applied to the treatment area, and light energy in the infrared range deeply heats the skin to stimulate collagen and elastin remodeling. The second step is then a light resurfacing with the laser; during this part of the treatment, you will feel a mild snapping sensation. Chilled air will be available to make the treatment comfortable for you. The treatment typically takes about 30 minutes. Afterward, we will apply a soothing post-procedure cream and/or sunscreen to the treated areas.

Neck rejuvenation can be effectively used for improving the texture and tone of the skin on the neck, and is a great option for reversing sun damage and boosting collagen in aging skin.
How does Neck Rejuvenation work?
Over time, the skin in the neck becomes more lax and horizontal lines can develop. Sun spots can also develop over time as a result of accumulated sun exposure on our skin. In this treatment, we use a laser in two different ways to improve the texture and tone of the skin on the neck. A laser handpiece is first used to apply infrared light and heat to the neck, to deeply stimulate collagen and elastin remodeling. This part of the treatment feels warm, but can be very relaxing. We will then use a different laser handpiece to lightly resurface the skin on the neck, similar to a light peel. You will feel a mild snapping sensation during this portion of the treatment that is generally well tolerated. This rejuvenating treatment is safe in all skin types. We recommend a series of 3 monthly treatments, and best results are typically seen 3-6 months after the final treatment. If you have questions about neck rejuvenation, consider scheduling a consult with our board-certified dermatologists.
Maintain Your Results
Taking proper care of your skin after neck rejuvenation is very important. Luckily, there is very little downtime associated with this treatment. You will look slightly red after treatment, but this fades quickly over the next few hours. You will apply a bland moisturizer to the treatment area regularly after the procedure and after showering, and will avoid products with active ingredients like retinols or alpha or beta-hydroxy aids for 2-3 days afterwards. Any kind of light treatment can make your skin extra sensitive to the sun, so it’s extremely important to wear sun protection and avoid UV exposure. We will recommend post-procedure products for you to apply at home. Neck rejuvenation is extremely effective and can improve both the tone and texture of the skin on the neck.
